In January, 2000, the GRRC launched an annual scholarship program for area high school seniors that were relocated between 9th and 12th grade.  The first two winners were  announced at the Spring meeting in April, 2000.

This past spring, we gave three scholarships of $1,000 each.  The applicants were evaluated on academic performance, standard test scores, extra-curricular activities, and an essay addressing the way they handled the challenges associated with relocating to a new high school.

For more information about the scholarship program, please contact Jan Francisco-Reulbach @ jfrancisco@caprelo.com

GRRC realized that anyone relocating with teenagers could use the advice of some of our past scholarship winners, so in 2006, we produced a DVD entitled “Teenagers and Relocation”.  Follow the case studies of three families as they go through the relocation process.  The perspective of relocated teenagers is very different than that of their parents.  For most teens, relocation is a time of pain, stress and anxiety.

Copies available for a donation of $10 each to GRRC for our scholarship fund.  Click here to obtain an order form.
